This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and multi skilled Infrastructure Engineer to act as a functional escalation from Tech Desk, providing effective incident management support and request fulfilment for all production infrastructure and desktop support requests in our growing London office.

We were recently admitted to the LSE and through the successful acquisition of MyVoucherCodes, are looking to continue our recent success and growth. You will be instrumental in ensuring the business and stakeholders are effectively supported through exemplifying a strength in knowledge of IT technologies and processes, with a can-do attitude and approach to assist the end user community with any Tech and office related queries.

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

Essential Qualifications:

  • Microsoft qualifications in Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in IT technical support role
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise hardware and software processes, virtual hardware and software technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of web-based technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills.
  • Experience in a technical support role in a web-based or financial services company.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes and experience in applying Incident, Problem and Change Management to a technical support role.
  • Solid understanding and experience of implementing/maintaining network/ security technologies from an end-user perspective.
  • Experience in and solid knowledge of infrastructure security requirements including; OS/Software patch management, application deployment requirements and toolsets using regular patching and reporting.
    Support experience of hosting within Cloud provider

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Acts as functional escalation point for infrastructure incidents and requests from wider Tech team, carrying out advanced administration duties across relevant infrastructure technologies.
  • Ensures ongoing stability and performance of service OS (and other), whilst supporting the deployment of necessary security patches and compliance reporting.
  • Proactively identifies, troubleshoots, researches and documents faults/errors and implements proposed fixes.
  • Maintains monitoring and alerting systems, including demonstrating continual service improvement by remediating any monitoring/alerting gaps proactively.
  • Ensure Datacentre, structured cabling and end-user services are maintained to best practice levels.
  • Supports and monitors the organisation’s infrastructure and performs preventative maintenance work to ensure operational effectiveness and stability of the technical environment is maintained.
  • Assists in designing and documenting infrastructure processes, procedures and standard and maintains or prepares system and software documentation.

Who you’ll be working with

  • Works closely with all members of the IT department to ensure stability of the operational environment.
  • Manages relationships with partners and 3rd party suppliers to deliver effective IT services to the business.
  • Collaborates with other Tech and Data Engineering colleagues on support, development and project work where directed.
  • Works with all areas within Engineering and Product to support respective roadmaps, ensuring allocated quarterly initiatives are delivered to time, quality and budget.
