The job in a nutshell

We start by identifying a problem, then we throw our ideas, talent and tech capabilities at it. The big problem we've been focused on is addressing 'botheration'. How do we encourage people to be more bothered about saving time and money? How do we, through product development, reduce the hassle for them?

Working under Platform Services, you will have a unique opportunity to unlock the true potential of propositions designed to take the hassle away from saving money by working on a B2B API product that can revolutionise the way millions of people save money. This is a product that is also a trusted provider of white-labelled energy comparison services to over 200 partners, including some of the UK’s best-known consumer organisations, including Which?.

This role is aligned to the discovery and strategic elements of the product lifecycle. It starts with early stages of product management through to client interviews, prototyping, testing and understanding the range of regulatory constraints the product may face. There will be heavy involvement with external stakeholders as we launch a new product to market and we are looking for someone to help us on deciding the best route forward.

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

You will have previously worked on validating and launching API products to market and will have the skills and experience to cut through complex problems in order to move forward.

  • Experience bringing a new product to market through discovery, delivery and launch
  • Experience within FinTech / InsurTech
  • Knowledge of API and data service technology
  • Knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulation
  • Experience using product management tools: Jira, Confluence, YouTrack, API docs (swagger)

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Synthesize deep analysis of technology, providers, capabilities, regulation and market to form product direction
  • Validate product direction through customer research
  • Define and own the roadmap prioritized based on value
  • Create and maintain a prioritized backlog of detailed user stories
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure delivery of product iterations
  • Be subject matter expert for the developer community
  • Facilitate creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation for delivery teams, stakeholders and customers
  • Work with business development to form proposition and bring new products to market
  • Establish methods for customer feedback and feedback into product management cycle
