Management Accountant (12 Month FTC)

The job in a nutshell

Please note this role is for a 12 Month FTC.

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join us who will be responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting for 4 of the Group’s legal entities along with the production of management accounts, statutory accounts and other ad-hoc reporting.

The role will have particular focus on Energylinx and Look After My Bills and support in the transition of accounting processes to our Newport office.

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

You will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) and have had previous experience of working as a Management Accountant or similar role. Ideally, you will also possess the following;

  • Previous experience of preparing management accounts and other financial reports (e.g. statutory accounts, cost centre reports, regulatory returns)
  • Experience of working in a plc and/or group finance function desirable
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
  • Diligent and diplomatic with non-finance minded colleagues

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely financial reporting for 4 of the Group’s legal entities with the support of the Accounts Assistant.
  • Preparing and reconciling the recognition of accrued income and associated costs.
  • Managing the posting of intercompany transactions for trading activities across the Group and ensuring these are reconciled and eliminated.
  • Day to day management of the Accounts Assistant and review of their work.
  • Ensuring debts are collected within agreed terms, providing reporting on credit control and escalating issues on a timely basis.
  • Producing timely and reliable management accounts, cost centre reports and other ad-hoc reporting for review by the Group Financial Controller.
  • Preparing annual statutory accounts for the 4 legal entities.
