Senior Auditor

The job in a nutshell

GoCompare have an opportunity for a qualified or part qualified Auditor to work with both internal and external parties in taking responsibility for end to end audits of external partners and provide revenue assurance, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and analysis that will directly impact upon company revenue.

You will have the autonomy to design and execute audits from inception and enable better commercial relationships with our partners.

You will be responsible for planning and coordinating our revenue assurance work and visiting our panel of partners. You will be liaising with our partners and working closely with our partnerships team. 

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

  • Recognised professional financial/audit qualification such as ACA/ACCA/MIIA/CIA/QIAL or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of undertaking audits including experience of the planning, fieldwork and reporting phases.
  • Good understanding of auditing standards and experience in documenting audit work in accordance with these standards.
  • High attention to detail and keen analytical ability.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal ability to interact with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Detailed knowledge of key FCA regulatory requirements (e.g. TCF, IDD)

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leads individual audit assignments in accordance with the agreed methodology within the agreed timescales, whilst managing their overall workload efficiently.
  • Manages all aspects of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Identifies weaknesses in controls and/or instances of non-compliance and proposes realistic and proportionate solutions, clearly communicating these to internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in a written audit report.
  • Production of sound financial assessments of complex audit findings to be relied upon by GoCompare Finance and the audited partner.
  • Supports the Head of Assurance with the continual improvement of the audit programme by identifying and implementing process enhancements
  • Supports the Head of Assurance with project work, ad-hoc assignments working with other business areas, as necessary.
  • Oversees the quality and delivery of work undertaken by junior members of the team, providing coaching, mentoring and training.
  • Requirement for approx. 10-20% UK travel

Who you’ll be working with

  • Acts as a key point of contact between the Assurance team and audit stakeholders, including senior external partner contacts, escalating issues internally and externally where necessary. 
  • Regularly consults with key internal staff in various other key departments including Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Insight and Customer/Business Services.
