Management Accountant

The job in a nutshell

GoCo Group has an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join us on a 12 month FTC. You will get the chance to work in a group function with exposure to every part of the business in what is an exciting period of growth, development, and change.

Managing a small team, you will be responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting of the Group’s consolidated costs, along with the production of cost centre reports, management accounts, and other ad-hoc reporting.

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager
  • Previous experience of preparing management accounts and other financial reports (e.g. statutory accounts, cost centre reports, regulatory returns)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
  • Diligent and diplomatic with non-finance minded colleagues
  • Experience of working in a plc and/or group finance function desirable

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Ensures the Group’s monthly costs are accurately recorded and all purchase orders, accruals, prepaid and capitalised costs are accurately reflected in the monthly financial reporting
  • Responsible for checking the accuracy of monthly payroll changes and payment
  • Prepares the in month view of administrative costs and identification of variances to budget
  • Day to day management of the two Accounts Assistants and review of their work
  • Prepares the cost centre reports at the end of each month, proactively liaises with the cost centre owners to ensure all consolidated costs are captured and works with the forecasting team to ensure that the forecast is updated as appropriate
  • Ensures appropriate treatment of VAT on transactions for the Group’s partial exemption status
  • Produces timely and reliable management accounts, cost centre reports and other ad-hoc reporting for review by the Group Financial Controller.
  • Assists with preparation of the quarterly FCA Regulatory Return and corporation tax packs.
