Group Financial Controller

The job in a nutshell

Are you a Finance Manager looking to take the next step in your career? Are you a Financial Controller wanting to work in a Group Plc setting? We are looking for a talented financial control specialist to join the team!

The role will involve you managing the accounting operations of the Group and act as a key point of liaison within the business to assist with key strategic decision making and to assist in managing the Group’s corporate position with the market and the banks, including debt, leverage and cashflow.

Skills and experience you’ll need to have

Qualified trough ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent you will have extensive post qualification experience, ideally within a Group setting. you will have excellent technical accounting ability with experience preparing or auditing accounts for a listed business.

Additionally, you will have;

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, taking responsibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to write Board level technical papers explaining complex issues in a clear, simple and concise manner.
  • Ability to analyse the corporate impact of business actions.
  • M&A and tax experience.

What you’ll be responsible for

As Group Financial Controller you will oversee the production of Group and subsidiary financial statements and regulatory reporting, maintaining an up-to-date set of technical accounting policies. You will also design and produce monthly consolidated financial reporting for Board and management and oversee the submission of all regulatory financial returns.

The role will require you to coordinate the interim and annual audits including the provision of information to auditors and the Audit and Risk Committee and establish, implement and maintain appropriate financial reporting systems, suggesting updates and improvements for systems, where appropriate.

You will be accountable for governance and control systems, along with a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and provide financial analysis and oversee accounting operations for investments and subsidiaries.

Additionally, you will provide financial analysis of the implications of business and corporate actions (acquisitions, implementation of strategy etc.) and have responsibility of treasury management (cash and debt management).
